The Province of Nova Scotia has in place a Provincial Substitute Committee that meets 3-4 times a year. There are representatives from across the province that address issues directly involving substitute teachers.
Substitutes Handbook
The NSTU developed this handbook as a resource for substitute teachers who are new to the profession. It gives insight into what’s expected of substitutes and offers some tips on meeting those expectations, including getting organized and keeping a class engaged.
